Poseidon-245 updates EN ISO 11612 to version: 2015

February 2018, AITEX lab (Spain) has tested Poseidon-245 fr fabric to the new version of safety standard for Protective clothing – Clothing to protect against heat and flame. Poseidon-245 confirmed its compliance to ISO EN 11612:2015 and received a new certificate, which you can see below.

According to EN ISO 11612:2015, Poseidon-245 has been successfully tested to the following tests:

  1. Heat Resistance (ISO 17493:2000) – performance level – PASS

Poseidon-245 results for samples and after 5 washing cycles at 60ºC, according to the standard ISO 6330:2012, method 6N, F drying (tumble dry)

Warp -0,7%

  1. Contact Heat (ISO 12127-1:2007)  – performance level F1
  • Average threshold time (S): 6,9

ISO 12127-1:2007 specifies a test method for the determination of contact heat transmission. It is applicable to protective clothing (including hand protectors) and its constituent materials intended to protect against high contact temperatures. ISO 12127-1:2007 is restricted to contact temperatures between 100°C and 500°C.

Threshold time (s)

< 10,0

< 15,0

The performance requirements set out in ISO 11612:2015 are applicable to garments which could be worn for a wide range of end uses, where there is a need for clothing with limited flame spread properties and where the user can be exposed to radiant or convective or contact heat or to molten metal splashes.

Poseidon 245 is a cotton rich blend ensures this protective FR-fabric features high quality of natural fibers and also enforced with durable properties of polyester, such as higher tear and abrasion resistance.

This fabric has been developed for use in a broad range of industries including petro-chemicals and utilities, especially in countries with hot climate. The modern 2/2 twill weave is complemented by Belltron carbon antistatic yarn in a stripe pattern. Flame retardant and antistatic fabric properties provide excellent protection from risks of Flash fire and ESD sparks. Lightweight, comfort and good level of protection make Poseidon 245 optimal fabric for summer protective FR-clothing.

You can find all the certificates and additional information on the Poseidon-245 product page.
